Oedipus the King, Sophocles Amazon Music Stream millions of songs. Gotta love that medieval scholarship. It gives insight into older and newer mythology, it gives a comprehensive look at mythology as a conceot and several views from which to perceive it. The myths fascinating are clearly presented, with bold-face type stressing important thuyr, but the reading is interrupted by commentaries in the margins.
I have been using it since the first edition and haven’t yet seen a superior work. Demeter and Persephone I’ve never enjoyed a text book before so it seems worthy of a review. Extensive marginal notes provide cross-references and explanations of terms and culture-specific concepts, while a glossary of deities, suggested readings for each chapter, and more than illustrations, photographs, and maps further enhance the volume.
